In November 2010, the Junior Chambers International in Osaka, Japan, initiated the annual Peace Conference of Youth (PCY) to attract active and visionary youth who strive to work for peace and development in the world to Osaka.? Selected Japanese and international youth connect their cultures and commit themselves to projects that they implement to make the world a better place. In January 2014, the PCY fellows (alumni) launched their quarterly series titled “Peace Quarter”.

Peace Quarter seeks to give fellows the platform to continue to discuss the issues that are at the core of global challenges and what world youth can do to help. This first quarterly publication contains very insightful articles from fellows from their own perspective to the bigger world. It presents some of the interesting views, experiences and projects of fellows and serves as a very good motivation and guide for those who aspire to be part of this fellowship in the future.

Regarding Imposter:

Recently we have had some PCY friends receiving false information that they have been accepted to PCY 2013. We would like to inform that we are extremely anguished that someone is trying to imposter us, and providing false information, and extremely regret that someone is trying to undermine us.

The false sender is under the name of Wau Ling Shu. S/he is not affiliated with PCY, nor do we know who the person is.

The participants for PCY2013 have already been confirmed, and there will be no additions. No exceptions are made. All participants have already been informed on July 1st. Our participants are already confirmed, and will not change.

Dear PCY friends

Thank you for showing interest in PCY 2013.

First off, we would like to congratulate everyone who has shown support for PCY this year. As the organizing team, we are overwhelmed by the extremely positive response we have had for this year’s program. We had an amazing 2300 applications. Our selection committee was expanded to have over 30 people to help with the selection process where we were working around the clock. Due to the resource and time restraints, we were not able to provide adequate response to everyone and apologize for that.

This year’s selection turned out to be an extremely difficult task for us. Many applicants were extremely qualified. Ideally, we would like to extend invitations to everyone. However, due to management and budget, we have to restrict ourselves to a short list of participants.

The short-list of finalists has been selected and we will be in touch with them within a couple hours. Even though we will not be getting in touch with everyone personally, we would like to congratulate everyone and let everyone know that even though some of us might not have been selected, we have many friends walking down the same path for World Peace.

We originally anticipated to provide a response on June 15 for those selected, however are behind due to the overwhelming response. We now expect to notify applicants who have been selected on July 1st.
